Building on the successful recent demonstration of our 28 GHz CAP-MIMO prototype we are starting a new project to develop a testbed network of CAP-MIMO nodes. The testbed will enable two important functions:

  • Development, testing and evaluation of new communication and networking protocols that can take full advantage of the multi-beam capability of CAP-MIMO nodes
  • Enable the collection of multi-beam MIMO channel measurement at mmW frequencies that are not possible with existing channel sounders.

A number of partners will help us with the development of this testbed:

  • Altera
  • Plexus
  • Samsung
  • UC Santa Barbara
  • Boise State University
  • WARF

This testbed is being developed with the support of a new NSF CISE CRI grant:
